Give.gown will be at The Bridal Spectacular August 21 & 22 accepting your donations of gently used or new wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses, mother of the bride and flower girl dresses. This organization sponsors a yearly fundraiser which auctions off gowns and uses the funds to donate to various cancer foundations. All contributors receive a receipt for tax purposes if desired. Every bride who brings in a gown to donate will automatically receive a door prize!
Christie McCoy-Hjelm is the coordinator for this worthy organization. Christie is the lead coordinator and owner of CLM Weddings & Events LLC.
You can meet Christie at The Bridal Spectacular in booth # 712 as well as see her handiwork at the grand entrance of the show!
The Bridal Spectacular has been helping Las Vegas brides plan their wedding since 1991 at Cashman Center. It is the largest and most trusted bridal show in Nevada! Tickets are now on sale on line!

So you are engaged and wondering how to get started? Whether money is tight or your budget is endless you still want the wedding you and your fiance have talked about. Wedding News from Bridal Show Producers Conference in Minneapolis

I've been attending the Bridal Show Producers Conference in Minneapolis for the last several days and the information to increase the value of my bridal shows for the brides and grooms- to-be has been invaluable!  I look forward to sharing more of these concepts over the next couple of weeks.  

We just finished a great presentation by representatives of The Knot. They presented a survey of what brides were thinking and planning regarding their wedding in 2008. After the presentation, discussions regarding  planning weddings in today's economy followed.

One of the statements heard during the Knot presentation hit me......we have often heard it takes a village to raise a child, but this was changed to it takes a village to help plan the wedding.  I'm thinking,  how about it takes a village to help pay for the wedding? Why not ask relatives beyond your parents to help pay for various items in the wedding.  It could be handled like a registry.  Not that I'm suggesting putting this in your invitation, but you could put it through the family network that instead of gifts you could use donations for the wedding.

Just a thought!

More ways to have the wedding of your dreams will be forthcoming.  But first and foremost plan to attend a bridal show so you can meet your potential vendors face to face. Saving Money on Music at Your Wedding

There are many articles out now on how to save money at your wedding. But brides beware, some of the advice being given is just plain BAD!

We are in the position to talk to many wedding professionals who are the ones who will be working hard to make your wedding a success. Today we spoke to Knight Sounds Entertainment. They were happy to pass on some practical advice to you!

• You can still have the wedding you want, but the first thing to consider is to put the date off a little longer than you would like and save for it! Don't go into debt just to have it right away and then start your married life together overwhelmed financially and possibly end up divorced.



• Don't just plan to use an ipod and do it yourself. That could end up destroying your happy day. Without a professional emcee there to direct events, get the party going, and make special announcements, your wedding could be over in an hour.



• The best way to cut $100 off your entertainment budget might be to book your entertainment for 3 hours instead of 4. Or have your wedding on a week day instead of the weekend. That one decision alone can save you on most every service you will need.



• If you simply can't wait and want to get married now, then plan a simpler chapel wedding and hold a big party a year down the road and relive your special day with everyone present!

Choosing the best booths at a bridal show is always difficult because there are usually so many. Each show our wedding professionals that exhibit at the show help to choose their peers who have done an extraordinary job presenting their products to the brides who attend. Hello, I'm back from my little vacation break and could not wait to continue my series on Best of Show booth's from the January Bridal Spectacular. All of these participants had incredible booths.

Naakiti Floral Design not only created a fabulous floral display in her booth but she was also responsible for the fabulous entrance at the front of the show and many other award winning booths too including The Las Vegas Paiute's award winning booth.

Our featured grand prize promotion at our recent show was more fun than you can imagine....unless of course you were one of these brides!

There were five .50 karat cubic zerconias hidden in our oversized sand box and 5 lucky brides were picked each time to sift through the sand to find one of the stones. The bride who found the specially marked cz won a .50 karat diamond from Aaron Leleh Jewelers! The other 4 brides each got to keep the cz or received a $100 gift certificate good with Aaron Lelah.

Sometimes the winner found her stone rather quickly and other times it took a while, but everyone had a great time!

Their fabulous display was both creative and live with wedding dresses raised and turned so you could see the backs of the gowns and live models showing the front of these fabulous gowns. For the bride who wants something a little more covered up with sleeves instead of strapless, these designers have found the right balance in their creations. In addition to bridal, they have mother of the bride, bridesmaids, prom gowns, semi-formal and day dresses and You can visit Allyse's Bridal at 2651 Paseo Verde Pkwy in Henderson, Suite 180.

Macy's Wedding and Gift Registry created a show booth environment so gracious and tastefully decorated that the brides could not help but stop and find out more about their bridal registry. BLR Life Photography and Cinema created a restful place for the brides to stop and gaze on their fabulous and unique photography at the January show. With Eric and Brittany Hanson, "this is not just a job, it's and artistic calling." You have to visit their website to see their awesome full screen photographic display. Their Best of Show booth left no doubt in the minds of attendees that their services would be representative of very creative people.

Make sure you plan to visit our Pre-fall Bridal Spectacular August 21 & 22 at Cashman Center to visit with the largest group of fine wedding professionals in Las Vegas.

Little Pastry Chefs - Barbie Cakes

Little Pastry Chefs was one of the first stopping points for brides entering the bridal show. You could not miss their oversized Barbie Cake as well as the lovely pink smaller versions. What a unique display! Of course they had many other lovely cakes to choose from too.

Wedding Cakes are always one of the most sought after items at our bridal shows. This was another of our Best of Show booth winners! JW Marriott another Best of Show Booth

At our recent January show there were so many fantastic booths. But here is another one that really stood out from the crowd!

Michael Testagrossa created a walk down the aisle feeling in his booth that truly stood out from the norm. This photo just does not do the display justice which featured a green approach with a moss lined aisle runner and brite red candles for visual pop. JW Marriott also had a "going green" table scape in our table scapes gallery that was a real hit with the brides.

The vendors at the recent show chose this gorgeous booth as one of the best booths in the show.

The Anthem and Marisa Floral worked together to create a luscious creamy pink confection and it was topped off with their neighbor Simple Elegance Cake Design with his fabulous cakes.

The 34th Bridal Spectacular was a huge hit with the brides!

This past weekend over 1,150 brides attended our event at The Pavilions at World Market Center Las Vegas. They were so excited and having so much fun planning their wedding with over 180 of Vegas' top wedding professionals there to help. Over the next couple of weeks we will be sharing with you some of the Best of Show booths that were there as well as other "cutting edge" wedding trends that were seen at the show!
