The January 25 & 26 Bridal Spectacular is almost here. You must have seen the beautiful billboards around town and soon you'll be hearing more about our upcoming event on Mix 94.1 and KLUC 98.5 our media partners. You'll want to make sure you register at the show for an opportunity to win fabulous prizes. Visit the Mix 94.1 booth where "A Time, A Taste, and A Place for Romance" gifts will be on display, Including a beautiful dining room set from RC Willey, $1,000 certificate in groceries from Albertsons, His and Her watches from Aaron Lelah Jewelers and many more gifts being handled out by Mix 94.1 and Findlay Toyota. There will also be hundreds of other prizes being given out by the over 180 vendors at the show. When you register for our January event you will also receive a one year subscription to Modern Bride Magazine. These are just some of the obvious and fun reasons to attend!

Of course, the fact that you will be able to find everything you need to plan your wedding is also VERY important! There will be 3 incredible fashion shows, our Spectacular Fashion Extravaganzas Friday nite at 8:30pm and Saturday at 12:30pm. Our Couture show will be at 3:30 pm on Saturday where all designer gowns will be shown. Fashions will be presented by Brides by Demetrios, David's Bridal, Bridal One, and tuxedos will be shown by MW Tux, Tux One, and Tuxedo Junction. You will also see Flowers by Albertsons Floral Dept and IDoinvegas.com

Every now and then I get asked "What is a bridal show and why should I attend?" So here it is, ladies. It's like going to a shopping mall, but every store there is focused on some area of service or product you will need for your wedding. Occasionally you will find a service that you will need after the wedding too! You should attend if you want to have a fun, no stress time planning your wedding! When you leave you will have a bag full of information, a brain full of ideas and a Free wedding planner too... and just maybe a prize or two!

So now's the time to buy your ticket, before the internet gets jammed with everyone trying to do it at the same time! We can't wait to see you at the show!

Another Great Testimonial from one of our exhibitors!

We decided to try out the Bridal Spectacular last July to bring in some potential clients for our new floral business. Being a new business, I was really nervous about the whole venture. As it came closer ,we decided that it would be fun put our flowers in the fashion show. The whole staff at the Bridal Spectacular was extremely helpful through the whole event. They are really organized, and willing to help make things run smoothly. I was a little nervous about setting up the booth because we had a lot of heavy props, but when I got to the convention center there were tons of people waiting to help us unload. I was really impressed with the whole event. We got a lot of connections with the other vendors there, and a ton of leads that is surely making our business grow. That's why we're doing it again in January! It's too good to pass up! Thanks to Sue and everyone at the Bridal Spectacular. We owe a lot of our success to you!

ARE THE RUMORS TRUE? Sorry folks Ty Hansen and Lyndsay Johnson from
Fox5 did not get married. A lot of fun antics happened at our recent July show including a mock wedding with reporter Lindsay Johnson and my son Ty. Lyndsay did a fantastic job of reporting on all the wonderful events that would take place at the show and Ty did a wonderful job as standing in as a potential groom. He doesn't exactly look miserable does he?

If you missed the summer event, now is the time to start planning to attend our January show to be held January 25 & 26 at Cashman. Tickets will become available on line in November. Booths are booking quite rapidly, so if you have a business that wants to reach 1300 brides getting married 2008 to 2009, we have a way to help. Call 702-368-0088 today!

D's Enchanting Memories

This way my first participation in the Bridal Spectacular as a vendor. It was an amazing experience. I made so many contacts I lost count. All the vendors were extremely helpful and I gained insight on ideas for the next Expo. I also met many wonderful brides and grooms who gave me a valuable insight on what they are looking for and what they are going through as they try and prepare for their wedding. The staff at Bridal Spectacular were wonderful and so helpful. I can’t wait until January!

What a great time we had at the summer show! Close to 1,000 brides were in attendance. The testimonials are flying in! We would love to hear from you brides too about how the show has helped you plan.

Here are some of the comments coming in from the summer exhibitors!

From Los Prados Country Club: http://www.losprados-golf.com
This was my first event with Bridal Spectacular and I have to say that I was very pleased. The show was a big success for us and we were delighted to have won a ribbon for Best Of Show. I was very happy about the opportunities there were to network with other vendors at the show and will certainly be coming back in January. The staff of Bridal Spectacular were very helpful to me as this was my first time and I was very pleased with their level of customer service. Carolee was quite a joy to work with over the phone, very helpful with my first-timer questions.

About Los Prados
Los Prados is located on the Northwest end of town, off of Lone Mountain and Jones. We are a golf course community of 1350 homes and in the midst of those homes sits our beautiful clubhouse where we host a variety of different types of events. We have an outdoor wedding site that backs up to one of our beautiful lakes with a large free standing fountain in the middle of it. The lake is surrounded by willows which adds to the beauty of the scene.
We have an excellent menu selection and our Chef Mr. Robert LaMar does a wonderful job with our kitchen staff to provide a great meal for our guests. Our menu selections are reasonably priced in comparison to the golf course industry in Las Vegas. It is fair to say that you cannot have a golf course wedding at a more moderate price than you can at Los Prados.
The atmosphere, the dining room staff, the great food, and the lovely golf course views make Los Prados a great place to plan your special day. When choosing your venue, visit our website or visit our clubhouse and see for yourself, the beauty of Los Prados.

Aside from our Yellow Page advertising and some direct-mailing to our customers, exhibiting at the Bridal Spectacular twice a year is our primary marketing outlet. It's wonderful to get our name and product out in front of so many brides in one place, and meeting our potential customers face-to-face helps us to begin building a relationship. The bride can get a sense of whether she'll be comfortable with us and determine if we have the service and selection she's looking for. I can't remember a time when we didn't have a Bridal Spectacular bride come in and place an order in the week immediately following the show, and they continue to trickle in up until it's time for the next show.

Just Write is a full-service stationery store featuring save-the-date cards, invitations, announcements, napkins, programs, favor ribbons and more...for weddings or any occasion. Whether your tastes are simple or elaborate, traditional or contemporary, we are sure to have something to suit you. You can browse our website at www.writejustwrite.com to preview our collection, then visit our store Monday through Saturday to see samples of our entire selection.

I would like to thank you for another great Bridal Spectacular show. It’s been a pleasure working with you and your team. Everyone is so pleasant and very organized. The show was great and the brides seemed to find it quite useful. The publication came out fabulous!

We look forward to future shows together.

We have participated in the last 15 Bridal Specatacular July and January events and have never been disappointed. They always have a great show from the service they provide their vendors to the number of brides that turn out. We wouldn't miss it and anyone who does is missing a great opportunity.

We had a great experience with the entire staff of the Bridal Spectacular. They prepared us with a wonderful presentation on show etiquette at the Blendor Vendor (not to mention the yummy treats). They went out of their way to help us with our ad in the Spectacular Wedding Planner and answered all of our questions (which were a lot since it was our first Bridal Spectacular). We had a great time at the show and met a ton of prospective brides!

It's almost bridal show time and things do get crazy here in the office the last couple of weeks. WE just sent the New Spectacular Wedding Planner to print and we can't wait to see it. It is such a nice planner for the bride and groom, that will find it full of helpful ideas to plan their wedding. Did you know, they get one free when they attend the show?

Ticketing is up, we had experienced some preliminary difficulties with the server, but everything seems to be running smoothly now!

Ladies, can your guy dance? We will be having a Groom's Booty Contest on Friday night, so if your man's a ham get him on stage to compete for a really nice Groom's gift basket full of goodies.

In addition to great fashions to be seen at our fashion shows, you will be able to preview floral bouquets presented by our floral sponsors. Friday nights flowers be provided by Ivy House & Garden Florist, Saturday at 12:30 by Amanda Lavoys, and the 3:30 Couture showing flowers will be by Floral Art Florist.

Our next bridal show is coming up soon, July 20 & 21. Here's a taste of what you will see at one of our Sizzling hot fashion shows. See it on YouTube and while you are there how about rating the clip!
Just back from Montreal and Jamaica. First to attend the Bridal Show Producer's International convention in Montreal and then for some R & R in Jamaica.

It was very exciting to hear about all the latest tips and trends for bridal shows. You definitely have to attend these events because they are all about the bride. One stop shopping where she can find everything she needs for a perfect day.

While laying on the beach in Jamaica I must have seen 10 weddings a day. What an exciting time for you as a couple. Is a destination wedding for you? If you want something intimate for just a few guests or family members, why not. But if you have always dreamed of the big day, in a church, walking down the aisle with a big party afterwards, then stay with the traditional wedding and go to Jamaica after for the honeymoon! I stayed at a Sandals Resort and it was so wonderful. All inclusive is the way to go! Booked my trip through Ultra Honeymoons. http://www.ultrahoneymoons.com

Now that "takes the cake". At the January Bridal Spectacular Harrahs Entertainment had a cake you could not miss in their booth! It was at least 3 feet tall and featured all of their properties. Other incredible cakes were shown by Creations Bakery, Simple Elegance, and Albertson's. There were even wedding cupcakes on display. Today's bride has many options to choose from.
After attending a few weddings myself recently, I wondered if the trend is going toward smaller cakes on display and then having sheet cakes to make sure you have enough for all your guests. While this might be an option that is better on your budget, these smaller cakes don't make as dramatic a presentation for photos ....especially during the cake cutting ceremony. There are other ways to make your cake look larger than it really is too, ask your baker if they can make a dummy layer for effect and to make the cake taller. Please do consider how the cake will look on the cake table and size does count in the over all scheme of things.
Remember the best way to pick a cake is to be able to taste it! When you attend The Bridal Spectacular July 20 & 21 there will be lots of cake to sample and savor.

OK, I've been a little busy lately and have not kept up with my blogs. However, I have a very good excuse.
I'm such a proud mom right now and getting ready to see both my kids graduate! First my talented, son Ty Hansen is graduating from UAT in Tempe, Arizona with a Bachelor in Science Degree with an emphasis in Web Development. Ty is the creator and webmaster of our website and has programmed such innovations as our virtual floor plan and our barcoded on line ticketing system. Ty also runs the ticketing department at the show and has worked there since he was 5!

Next comes my lovely Laura, who has also been working at the show since she was 3; first modeling as a flower girl and now one of the beautiful bridal gown models in the show! She is graduating from CCSN with her Associate of Arts Degree on May 14th and from high school on June 12. What a determined young lady to do both by the age of 18. She is a truly talented artist and recently created our new logo! Laura will be attending NAU in the fall pursuing a degree in Art Education.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to brag a little about my two fabulous children, now young adults, making their parents so proud!

How you seat your guests at your wedding reception can make or break the evening. If at all possible, you want to choose a room that allows all the guests to see the head table and dance floor. Some facilities are split into two rooms or an L-shape which will split up your guests and make it hard for them to be part of the party.. Here are some other considerations:

  • Bars: Consider having more than one so your guests don't have to push their way through tables to get to them.
  • Have a table for singles: Consider putting all your single guests together at one table, they will have much more fun than sitting with families or married couples.
  • DJ or Band: Needs to be placed where they can see the dance floor and the head table, and cake table since they will be directing many of festivities.
  • Headtable: This can be either a one sided banquet table large enough to seat the whole wedding party or a double sided banquet so their immediate families or mates can sit with them. You can sit up to 24 people at a head table, the more the merrier. The sweetheart table for the bride and groom only will leave you filling isolated from your own party.
  • Cake Table: This will be the focal spot for one of your very special events, make sure it stands out and is located in a good spot for photos with a good well lit background.
  • Party People: These people will be the ones having the best time and will be happiest near the bar and the dj or entertainment. They don't have to be near you!

Talk to the real experts by attending our next bridal show, July 20 & 21, 2007. You'll find everything you need under one roof.

Planning a Destination Wedding? Las Vegas is the place, we have an abundance of chapels, reception locations and all kinds of unique theme options for your wedding. There are a few basics to keep in mind when planning a destination wedding.

  1. Consider hiring a consultant, this can save you lots of time and prevent mistakes when hiring out of "your" state vendors.

  2. Attend a bridal show for the area where you want to get married or visit the website for that bridal show.

  3. Visit our site, you will find a list of vendors in every category who can help you plan your Las Vegas destination wedding. http://www.bridalspectacular.com You can rely on e-mail and the Internet to stay in contact with your chosen vendors just like you would in your home town.

  4. Use credit cards for payment, never cash. This will give you proof of your purchases.

  5. When ordering things like decor and flowers, you can e-mail photos of what you like. Just keep in mind flowers that are available in California may not be you best choices in the desert, so keep an open mind and be flexible. Your florist should be aware of the current brides maid color options and be able to suggest complimentary flowers to go with them. It's best to mail them a color sample rather than just tell them green, there can be many different shades of green (celedon, sage, mint, clover....you get what I mean?)

  6. Arrive at your destination wedding state early enough to take care of all final details and be relaxed before the big day, treat your self to a spa and unwind....you want to enjoy this most special day with the love of your life.

I just had a wonderful phone call the other day from Ellen Lafair, promotional director of the new Fox 5 television series The Wedding Bells premiering tonight. Ellen had several beautiful brides handing out mints at our recent bridal show, The Bridal Spectacular, promoting this new wedding sit com. Before and after our show they were on tour at many other bridal shows across the country. She called to tell me that our show was by far the most professional and best attended bridal show that they participated in. We work very hard to put on a great bridal show, but its nice to hear from someone who knows how we compare to other bridal events.

For you bridal related businesses out there its time to start booking your booths at our July 20 & 21st event! It's going to be a hot one! Last summers attendance was 1000 brides and the exhibitors who do the summer show say the brides are serious about their wedding planning! So don't miss out, check out available booth spaces at http://www.bridalspectacular.com/floorplan/floorplan.asp?show=default
